Who We Are
Our Story
The Magna Carta Law Foundation was born out of conviction—not convenience. Founded by constitutional attorney and former Maryland Delegate Daniel L. Cox, our organization stands at the intersection of law, faith, and freedom. We exist because too many Americans have been silenced, sidelined, or stripped of their rights—and we refuse to let that stand.
Our name honors the original Magna Carta of 1215—a document that first declared that even kings are subject to the law. Today, we carry that legacy forward by defending the rights of everyday citizens against government overreach, censorship, and coercion.
We believe the Magna Carta and our Western Constitutions are not relics of history. They are guarantees of society’s recognition of the natural laws and fundamental liberty interests given by our Creator. And we’re here to make sure they are honored and kept.
Our Mission
To advocate for and defend your God-given rights—religious liberty, including education, free speech, life, and parental authority—through strategic legal action, public advocacy, and grassroots mobilization. We do this in the State of Maryland, the United States, in the U.K., Europe, and worldwide.
We serve individuals, churches, families, and communities who are facing threats to their freedom. Whether it’s a World Health Organization illegal “mandate,” a student punished for their faith, a parent silenced at a school board meeting, or a Christian school or a church targeted for fines and closure—we consider how we may step in, stand up, and fight back.
What We Do
- Legal Defense: Representing individuals, churches, and families facing government overreach or religious discrimination. (Maryland Only)
- Legislative Advocacy: We draft, support, and defend laws that protect life, liberty, and family. From statehouses to Congress, we work to ensure that constitutional values are reflected in public policy.
- Public Education: We equip citizens with the knowledge and tools to understand their rights and defend them. Through workshops, webinars, and resources, we help Americans become informed advocates for freedom.
- Faith & Freedom: Alerts We keep our supporters informed about urgent legal battles, legislative threats, and opportunities to take action—locally and nationally.
